How to Rent DVC Points Through David’s Vacation Club Rentals

If you’re looking at Deluxe resorts and the price is the only thing holding you back, David’s Vacation Club Rentals is a way to book those same rooms for less so you can stay closer to the parks, cut down on transportation, and have more space during the day.

What you’re actually doing when you rent DVC points

Disney Vacation Club is Disney’s timeshare. Owners use points to book their stays instead of paying nightly rates. When they’re not using those points, they rent them out.

You’re paying to use those points to have a room booked in your name. That’s why the price is lower.

Once it’s confirmed, your reservation shows up in your Disney account like any other stay. You’ll plan dining, Lightning Lane, and park days the same way. Nothing about your experience changes once you’re there.

How the process works

You’re not browsing rooms the way you would on Disney’s site. You go in with a plan—your dates, your resort, and your room type—and either take over a reservation that already exists or submit a request for that exact stay.

On David’s site, you’ll see confirmed reservations first. These are already-booked stays with fixed dates, resort, and room type. Because they’re already secured, they’re often priced lower. If one lines up with your trip, you can book it immediately and skip the matching step.

If nothing fits, you submit a request. You enter your dates, resort, and room type, and place a small deposit while David’s looks for a match. If they can’t find one, that deposit is refunded. If they can, the reservation is secured in your name and you’ll receive a Disney confirmation number.

At that point, you complete payment in full.

How this is different from booking through Disney

This is where you need to pay attention in order to understand the tradeoffs: When you book directly through Disney, you’re usually putting down a $200 deposit and paying the rest over time. You can bundle your room and tickets together, adjust things as you go, and you have more flexibility leading up to your trip.

With DVC rental, it’s more defined. Once your reservation is secured, payment is due in full and tickets are purchased separately. You’re not bundling your trip into a package, and you’re not making changes after the fact the same way.

Neither is better. They just work differently.

What that means for your planning

Because of how payment works, DVC rental fits best once your plan is already clear. You know your dates, you know your resort, and you’re ready to move forward when it becomes available.

If you’re still deciding between resorts or trying to keep things flexible, booking directly through Disney gives you more room to figure that out.

If your plan is set and you’re looking for a way to bring the cost down, this is where DVC rental makes sense.

& did you know, you can still work with me when you book this way

Booking through David’s doesn’t mean you’re on your own.

If you use my link, I still handle your planning the same way I would with a standard Disney booking. I can also submit the request for you, track availability, and make sure everything lines up before it’s secured.

You don’t need to learn a new system to use this option.
